Protesters stormed the parliament of the Russian-backed breakaway Georgian region of Abkhazia on Friday and opposition politicians demanded the resignation of the self-styled president over an unpopular investment agreement with Moscow.

A truck rammed the gates of parliament in the Russian-backed breakaway Georgian region of Abkhazia as hundreds protested against an investment agreement with Moscow. People were shown pouring into the courtyard and attempting to enter the parliament building.

Protesters opposing a measure allowing Russians to buy property in the Georgian territory of Abkhazia stormed the separatist republic’s parliament building and presidential office and clashed with police.
