President Donald Trump and other leading conservatives are celebrating a special election sweep in Florida, calling it a “huge win for America" and a rebuke to Democrat hopes for an upset in the deep red state.

Florida voters cast ballots Apr. 1 in the U.S. House District 1 special election to replace Matt Gaetz and District 6 to replace Mike Waltz.

Republicans Randy Fine and Jimmy Patronis won special elections in Florida, resulting in the GOP control of the House sitting at a 220-213 margin.

The governor called Fine a “squish” and blamed policies he supported for an underperformance in the special election.
