The Senate has confirmed Marco Rubio as secretary of state, giving President Donald Trump the first member of his Cabinet

Confirmations don’t come easier than this. The Senate approved the nomination of Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) to be secretary of state 99-0 Monday, hours after President Trump took the oath of office in the Capitol Rotunda.

Rubio’s confirmation vote passed with overwhelming bipartisan support, 99-0. Rubio also was able to cast a vote for himself.
