The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) battled fierce wildfires throughout the night, as the infernos continued to ravage neighborhoods across Los Angeles. Adding to the city’s woes, a new blaze erupted in Runyon Canyon within the Hollywood Hills on Wednesday evening,

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who declared a state of emergency, urged residents to evacuate after he witnessed buildings destroyed by the blaze.

A series of wildfires is raging across the Los Angeles suburbs, and firefighters are struggling to get control. The fires that are devastating Pasadena and the Pacific Palisades are threatening to spread further into other areas of southern California.

At least five people are dead and many more injured as several fires broke out across Southern California amid historically dry and windy conditions.
