Manasi Foo, 35, has been charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder. He appeared in court Wednesday morning via Zoom. Michael Young has lived in the neighbourhood his entire life and said he was shocked when he saw police cars and an ambulance show up on his street Wednesday evening.

Ottawa Police are investigating the homicide of a 46-year-old woman who died in Hintonburg on Christmas Day. Police said Jolene Arreak died at 6:10 p.m. on Spadina Avenue. Another victim survived the attack and was treated in hospital before being released, according to police.

Thirty-five year old Manasi Foo is being charged with the murder of Jolene Arreak and the attempted murder of a second victim.
