A Henderson police sergeant involved in a shooting had to get 11 staples in his head, according to an arrest report.

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal crash Wednesday morning in the northeast Las Vegas Valley. Police announced in a post on X that the intersection of Stewart Avenue and North Lamb Boulevard is closed in all directions due to the crash.

A 19-year-old was sentenced to prison for killing one person and seriously injuring another in a head-on collision, but the outcome was not what his lawyers expected.

A fatal crash occurred on Tuesday morning in the east valley, involving two vehicles and resulting in the death of one person, with impairment not suspected.

Deputy Chief Branden Clarkson said that officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the vehicle fled. That vehicle hit another car in the intersection of Stewart and Lamb and then continued on.
