Landman is none of my business. The Television Academy seems to have an allergy to Taylor Sheridan, and so I’ve been able to limit my exposure to his prolific output to my colleague Kathryn’s coverag of it.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stepped into the Taylor Sheridan universe with an appearance on the penultimate episode of Landman ’s season one. The series starring Billy Bob Thornton as a crisis manager is set against the backdrop of the booming and rugged West Texas oil industry.

The Cowboys owner popped up in episodes of “Coach,” “Arli$,” “Entourage,” “Cubed” and “The League.” Jones also appeared in the 2024 documentary series about the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. “Landman” streams on Paramount+ and will air its season finale on Sunday, Jan 12.
