New York Giants co-owner John Mara knows fans were rooting for a “tank” but he would have “fired everybody” had they actually tanked.

Mara was lost in a sea of contradictions Monday as he tried to defend the indefensible decision of retaining Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen.

The Giants are going to be terrible until they find a legit quarterback solution. Pretty much everyone can agree on that. So there are a couple problems with what co-owner John Mara did — and said — on Monday.

And Mara did not mince words when it comes to what his goals will be every gameday as long as he's alive and wields power. "If I had thought that we were tanking either one of those games, I would've fired everybody,
