Taiwanese electronics giant Foxconn, the world's leading contract manufacturer and a key Apple supplier, reported a surge in third-quarter profits, exceeding market expectations.

Apple supplier Foxconn reported on Thursday a 14% rise in third-quarter net profit, driven by strong AI server demand.

The company said that the cumulative revenue of AI servers in the first three quarters of this year grew more than 200% compared to the same period last year, and general server revenue also grew by more than 20%.

The contract electronics maker reported better-than-expected profit for the third quarter as the artificial-intelligence boom drove demand for AI servers.
